Veterans Day is a good day to talk about OZUYE WINYANPI.

WINYANPI, of course, are WOMEN
OZUYE is a WAR PARTY.
OZUYE WINYANPI = Women Warriors
ZUYA means ‘to go on a war party’.

When men ZUYA, they go out to protect the women and children of their camp.  When women ZUYA, they go out to pick up their wounded men.  Women are the ones who rescue and then heal.  After Viet Nam many women forgot they were to heal, and their men came back and were not healed.  In the old days defenseless women defended those who were defenseless.  Women cry and die, but, while they live, they guide the children.  They are the teachers, the counselors, the ones who give advice, even when the children do not want to take the advice.  They scold the Men Warriors, if they are not fair, but they heal the Men Warriors, when they come back wounded.  OZUYE WINYANPI, Women Warriors, are weak, but they are not afraid of any-one.  Read about the very old ones: Ruth, Judith, Esther, Mary Magdalen and others in the Bible.

There was a great OZUYE WICASA, a great Man Warrior, Jesus, who did not kill, but who healed. “The weakness of God is stronger than human strength.”

The world needs Women and Men who persuade and do not persecute, who are weak and take cruel blows, and then redeem the ones who hit them.  They are the ones who FORGIVE.  “Forgive them, Father, they know not what they are doing!”  And so there is Peace.  The Sacred Hoop will be restored.
