RACISM |
| There one sin that no human person can step away
from. It is the sin of racism. Humans are 99.9% the
same, whether this is acceptable or not. There is a remarkable word
in the Dakota language. Our Elders were ages in advance of
science. MITAKUYE OWASIN, "All my Relatives", is our
address, when we speak to any Assembly. Speaking for my Church: "The challenge now is to get every Catholic involved in combating racism where it exists. As followers of Jesus it goes against our faith to sit on the sidelines and do nothing to stamp out the sin of racism. Let us lead by example in eliminating this sin that divides the human family. May this collection of articles help to open our minds and encourage our hearts to take action so that all will be free." Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago, George V. Murray, SJ, in preface to "U.S. Catholic Bishops Speak Against Racism". For copy (175 pages) call (800) 235-8722. |
