Hermitages sites

The hermitages are located in beautiful wooded areas near a lake. Trails throughout the woods and prairie invite leisurely walks while enjoying the abundant wilderness and wildlife.

Each prayer cabin is simple yet comfortable with an attached screened porch accessible from the inside. It contains a bed, rocking chair, table, wardrobe, an altar with a Bible, cross and icons. There is electric heat & lights; although there is no running water, a 5 gallon jug of water is provided as needed.

A community member is always close by. We protect the privacy of all guests. After you enter into your hermitage, this sacred space is yours. You will not be disturbed except at your request or for an emergency.

Planning your visit

The hermitage is open all year, seven days a week, guest will determine his or her length of stay. If possible allow at least two nights so you may experience "quiet time", freedom "to be" away from any pressures of time, structure or personal responsibilities. In the quiet and stillness of the heart, God's rich and abundant blessings are now received.

Pray with the Monks

The Monastic Community also invites all those who use the hermitage to join them in the celebration of the Eucharist and other times of prayer if they so desire.
