(Make the sign of the cross with your right thumb on your
lips, saying:)
Lord, open my lips and my mouth will proclaim your praise.
INVITATORY: The Lord is risen, alleluia.
Psalm 62 (63)
O God, you are my God, for you I long;
for you my soul is thirsting.
My body pines for you
like a dry, weary land without water.
So I gaze on you in the sanctuary
to see your strength and your glory.
For your love is better than life.
My lips will speak your praise.
So I will bless you all my life.
In your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul shall be filled as with a banquet.
My mouth shall praise you with joy.
On my bed I remember you.
On you I muse through the night
for you have been my help;
in the shadow of your wings I rejoice.
My soul clings to you;
your right hand holds me fast.
Those who seek to destroy my life
shall go down to the depths of the earth.
They shall be put into the power of the sword
and left as the prey of the jackals.
But the king shall rejoice in God;
(all that swear by him shall be blest,)
for the mouth of liars shall be silenced.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen
The Lord is risen, alleluia.
[Pause and reflect on the previous psalm.]
ANT: Our Redeemer has risen from the tomb;
let us sing a hymn of praise to the Lord our God, alleluia.

READING (Acts 10:40-43)
God raised up Jesus on the third day and granted that he be seen,
not by all, but only by such witnesses as had been chosen beforehand
by God - by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the
dead. He commissioned us to preach to the people and to bear witness
that he is the one set apart by God as judge of the living and the
dead. To him all the prophets testify, saying that everyone who
believes in him has forgiveness of sins through his name.
[Reflect on the Reading, applying it to your life today.]
ANT: Very early on the morning after the Sabbath,
when the sun had just risen, they came to the tomb, alleluia.
CANTICLE OF ZECHARIAH (Luke 1:68-79)
Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;
he has come to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty savior,
born of the house of his servant David.
Through his holy prophets he promised of old
that he would save us from our enemies,
from the hands of all who hate us.
He promised to show mercy to our fathers
and to remember his holy covenant.
This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham;
to set us free from the hands of our enemies,
free to worship him without fear,
holy and righteous in his sight all the days of our life.
You, my child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High;
for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way,
to give his people knowledge of salvation
by the forgiveness of their sins.
In the tender compassion of our God
the dawn from on high shall break upon us,
to shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death,
and to guide our feet into the way of peace.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen
ANT: Very early on the morning after the Sabbath,
when the sun had just risen, they came to the tomb, alleluia.
INTERCESSIONS
We pray to Christ the Lord of life, raised up by the Father;
may he raise us up by his power.
Lord Jesus, light shining in the darkness, you lead your people
into life;
give our mortal nature the gift of holiness.
May we share the joy of the risen Christ with all we meet today.
Lord Jesus, our King, may you raise all who have died to the
eternal life of Heaven.
(Pray for your special intentions.)
OUR FATHER
And now we pray to God the Father in the words that Jesus taught
us.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,
thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever and
ever. Amen
PRAYER
God our Father, by raising Christ your Son
you conquered the power of death and opened for us the way to
eternal life.
Let our celebration today raise us up and renew our lives
by the Spirit that is within us.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever
and ever. Amen
BLESSING
May the Lord bless us, protect us from all evil and bring us to
everlasting life. Amen |
