(Make the sign of the cross, saying:)
God, come to my assistance,
Lord, make haste to help me.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen
ANT: God has answered the prayers of his people. He has
crowned his Christ with victory.
Psalm 20 (19)
May the Lord answer in time of trial;
may the name of Jacob's God protect you.
May he send you help from his shrine
and give you support from Zion.
May he remember all your offerings
and receive your sacrifice with favor.
May he give you your heart's desire
and fulfill every one of your plans.
May we ring out our joy at your victory
and rejoice in the name of our God.
May the Lord grant all your prayers.
I am sure now that the Lord
will give victory to his anointed,
will reply from his holy heaven
with the mighty victory of his hand.
Some trust in chariots or horses,
but we in the name of the Lord.
They will collapse and fall,
but we shall hold and stand firm.
Give victory to the king, O Lord,
give answer on the day we call.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen
ANT: God has answered the prayers of his people. He has
crowned his Christ with victory.
[Pause and reflect on the previous psalm.]
ANT: All honor is yours, O Lord. You have made us priests
for God our Father.
Canticle 27 (Revelation 4:11 & 5:11)
Worthy are you, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power.
For you created all things,
and by your will they existed and were created.
Worthy are you, O Lord,
to take the scroll and to open its seals.
For you were slain and by your blood you ransomed men for God
from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.
You have made us a kingdom and priests to our God,
and we shall reign on earth.
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain,
to receive power and wealth,
and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen
ANT: All honor is yours, O Lord. You have made us priests
for God our Father.
[Pause and reflect on the previous psalm.]
READING (1 Corinthians 1:7b-9)
We await the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will
strengthen us to the end, so that we will be blameless on the day of
our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, and it was he who called us
to fellowship with his Son.
[Reflect on the Reading, applying it to your life today.]
ANT: Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him
while he is near, alleluia.
CANTICLE OF MARY (Lk 1:46-55)
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed;
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he has remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children for ever.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen
ANT: Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him
while he is near, alleluia.
INTERCESSIONS
Eternal Word, you became man to reveal to us the new and living way,
may we humbly follow your way and be saved. We pray to the Lord.
Lord, help us not to be so attached to our earthly possessions
that we forget to pray to you. We pray to the Lord.
Lord, you are Father of the poor and healer of the sick; free all
who are held in slavery and give joy to those who mourn. We pray to
the Lord.
You are life, help us to respect all life and treat all people
with true respect. We pray to the Lord.
(Pray for your special intentions.)
OUR FATHER
And now we pray to God the Father in the words that Jesus taught
us.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,
thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever and
ever. Amen
PRAYER
God of mercy and consolation, help us in our weakness and free
us from sin. Hear our prayers that we may rejoice at the coming of
your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one
God, for ever and ever. Amen
BLESSING
May the Lord bless us, protect us from all evil and bring us to
everlasting life. Amen
